New Work

I spent a fantastic two days at The Bramble Patch in Weedon Bec last week with the very talented and lovely Stephanie Redfern. Her work is amazing, I love it. The theme was Bold and Bright and we spent time dyeing, printing and painting our own fabrics before designing a piece and learning about composition and how to bring our ideas together. I am working on two pieces and am really pleased with the results. Here they are partially done. Still lots of stitch and beading to do. Sorry, not great photos, I need to get some tips from my friend, Steve!

Making a mess!

Love these stencils cut from quilters template plastic, they look great all covered in paint

My liquitex basics from Cass Art, half price, 48 delicious colours
Working on this tree collage, the trunk and branches are made from baby wipes I used to clean the gelli plate, the leaves are cut from the printed fabric, all done on cotton rag (khadi paper) just need to add a bit more and then stitch it

Working outside in the sunshine

I have been printing on interfacing and lutradur with acrylic paint on the gelli plate

Latest project

This wall hanging is a work in progress, sorry the photo isn't great, winter light and all that. I need to edge it, back it and attach it to some doweling to hang it. I'll post some better photos when it's finished.

For Georgia

Here is one I made for a friend's daughter, Georgia

Inspired by an Angie Hughes workshop

I loved the backgrounds we made at Angie's illuminated letters workshop and decided to go all girly with this one! They are so much fun to make!

And my favourite, in their winter coats

Developing my felting, bit of a sheep fetish going on!

After felting, drying in the sunshine (it's an old photo!!)

Felting

I wanted to have a go at wet felting after seeing it demonstrated at the Knitting and Stitch Show. This is the pre felted layout

About Me

My photo
I live in a cotswold village with amazing walks and scenery, and work at a rural doctor's surgery. My first love is textiles and I would love to be able to do that full time one day.
